Congressman Adrian Smith Files For Re-election

Gering, Neb - Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today officially filed for re-election to serve Nebraska’s Third Congressional District. Smith was first elected in 2006.

Smith, who reported contributions from more than 4,500 Nebraskans, has more than $500,000 cash-on-hand entering the 2012 election cycle and no debt.

“It is my life’s greatest honor representing Nebraska’s Third District,” said Smith, who won re-election in 2010 with 70 percent of the vote. “With our economic and fiscal future still in dire shape, Nebraskans deserve the absolute best representation in Congress, and I will continue to work tirelessly to earn every vote.”

“Adrian does an outstanding job representing Nebraskans in the Third Congressional District,” added Governor Dave Heineman. “I am especially pleased that he is a member of the Ways and Means Committee. I strongly support Congressman Smith for re-election.”

Smith reminded supporters to request early voting ballots by contacting the Nebraska Secretary of State’s office at www.sos.ne.gov.

“I’m pleased the State of Nebraska continues to make early voting available for those who want to take part in the democratic process,” said Smith. “There is no more important civic duty than casting a vote.”

Smith encouraged Nebraskans to visit his re-election website  (www.joinadrian.com) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/AdrianSmithNE) for more information.
